With a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Texas, Alex Choyce brings a solid foundation in music theory and composition. His formal training includes private study with Panayiotis Kokoras, Kirsten Soriano, Alain Mayrand, and Saad Haddad. Ranging from solo works to full orchestra, his compositions display a command of post-tonal aesthetics, drawing inspiration from Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Charles Ives, Herbert Howells, John Coolidge Adams, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Steve Reich. He is dedicated to achieving creative execution of novel ideas with idiomatic proficiency.
